Be Strong! Be Bold!
D’varim (Deut.) 33:7
Of Y’hudah he said:
“Hear, YHVH, the cry of Y’hudah! Bring him in to his people, let his own hands defend him; but you, help him against his enemies.”
We see that when Moshe (Moses) gives his final blessings over the people of Israel, that when blessing Y’hudah, he says, “let his own hands defend him”.
It’s hard to turn to the news and not see what is transpiring in the Land. Israel, surrounded by its enemies, has many tough decisions to make. Do they preemptively strike Iran to stop any chances of a nuclear Iran? Do they sit idly by as a nation bent on Israel’s destruction rises up with nuclear capabilities?
I think we find the answer in this passage. “Let his (Y’hudah – The Jews) own hands defend him; but you (YHVH), help him against his enemies.”
Does Israel need anyone’s approval to protect herself?
We also see in Y’hoshua 1:6-7
“Be strong, be bold, for you will cause this people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers I would give them. Only be strong and very bold in taking care to follow all the Torah which Moshe my servant ordered you to follow; do not turn from it either to the right or to the left; then you will succeed wherever you go.”
Lastly in verse 9
“Haven’t I ordered you, ‘Be strong, be bold‘? So dont be afraid or downhearted, because YHVH your Elohim is with you wherever you go.”
